Happy Valentine's Day

We had such a fun Valentine's day together. When we first got up David and I gave a cute stuffed animal and treats to each of the kids, then Dylan and Mickell had made some cute valentines to give to everyone. The kids were so sweet and thoughtful to us and to each other and even put chocolates and suckers on there gifts to each other.

The weather was really snowy all day, so even though I hate being cold and wet, we thought it would be really fun to take the kids outside and play in the snow. We bundled them all up, and ended up being outside for over 2 hours! They all had so much fun, and Ty was kicking and screaming when we finally made him go back inside.

We had such a wonderful day together. I love to see my kids happy and I love it when we are able to have fun like this together. I love being a mom, and I'm so grateful for the good life that I have.

What a great dad!

For the past while Mickell has been telling me that she really wants dad to bring her some boards home so she can build something. She called him up at work the other day and he told her that on Saturday they would go buy some boards and figure out something they could build. After talking to him on the phone she came up with the idea to build an airplane. On Saturday we all went over to Lowe's and picked out some boards, nails, and a hammer for both Dylan and Mickell. When we got home Dylan quickly drew up some "blueprints" and David helped them sort of plan out how they were going to build the airplane. The kids helped with everything and were acutally really really good at hammering in the nails...well, Dylan and Mickell were really good at it and Ty just had fun pretending. David made a propeller and a steering wheel for each side of the airplane so they could both play in it at the same time. It might not look like much, but they had such a wonderful day and were so proud of all their hard work. I'm so grateful that David is such a great dad and that he would spend his day helping them to create something so fun.

Happy 7th Birthday Dylan

I can't believe that my oldest child is already seven years old! Time passes by way too fast for my liking. Dylan is such a great kid and he had such a fun birthday. I think the highlight of his day was getting an Indiana Jones little lego set. He loves little legos and he loves the Indiana Jones wii game, so mix them together and you have the ultimate gift for him. I'm so glad that he had a fun day.

Ty LOVED the birthday cake!
.
Mickell was really excited that it was Dylan's birthday. She spent a lot of time during the afternoon making him a special birthday card and even put $0.27 of her own money in the card. So cute!!

Christmas 2008

It's been a while since I made a post and I figured it was about time I tried to catch up on things. The holidays seemed like a whirlwind...always a million places to go and too many things to get ready for. I was glad when Christmas finally arrived. The kids were SO excited and had such a wonderful day. We just hung out and took it easy all day and had a lot of fun together as a family. A lot of us have been sick on and off since Christmas though, so we are just barely getting back to normal and trying to get back in the swing of things!

Happy Birthday Mickell

On November 7th Mickell turned 5 years old! I can't believe how fast she has grown up. A few days before her birthday I asked what she was most excited about...she said she was just excited for it to be her special day, and she really wished that Dylan could stay home from school to hang out with her. She is such a sweet little girl, and it was a really fun day celebrating her birthday. Some of her favorite gifts were a barbie mermaid, barbie car, diamond castle barbie, and lip gloss (from her brothers). She really likes scooby doo, so she picked out a scooby doo cake and we played some scooby doo games. First we played pin the scooby snack on scooby's mouth, then we had a clue hunt to find where scooby was hiding (leading back to the birthday cake). It wasn't anything too big, but she was happy, and that is all that matters to me.

HALLOWEEN

Making Cookies
.
We decided that it would be fun to make some sugar cookies for Halloween. Mickell and Tyce helped cut out the cookies, I baked them, then Dylan and Mickell frosted and decorated them while Tyce taste tested as much frosting as he could get in his mouth. It was a really fun day for all of us!

TRICK-OR-TREAT

We actually worked out a theme for the kid's costumes this year, Dylan was the brave knight, Mickell the beautiful princess, and Tyce the mean dragon. The two big kids had such a great time and Mickell kept saying that this was the best Halloween ever. The weather was so nice that we didn't even need jackets. We all walked around the neighborhood for about an hour and it was a lot of fun. Ty just thought it was awesome that people kept giving him candy! One of his favorite words to say now is "treats"...he's definitely related to me!!

FALL FUN

The weather during October was so crazy that we didn't know from one day to the next if we should wear shorts or coats. Despite the weather confusion, we still had a lot of fun.

On October 5th, we headed up on the mountains by Snowbasin ski resort. One of our favorite Fall activities is to take a hike and gather different colored leaves. We gathered a few leaves and took a short hike, but it was SO cold that we couldn't stand to be outside for too long.

Two days later on October 7th, Dylan's friend Ashly came over to play and it was so warm they played outside for two hours! They had such a great time and it felt like the middle of summer again.

A few days later on October 12th, we were plastered with a huge snowstorm! The kids were super excited and couldn't wait to get all their winter clothes out and play in the snow. The snow only lasted a few days though before the sun came out and melted everything (to Mickell's great disappointment).

On October 23rd, we headed to the Black Island Farm for Mickell's preschool field trip. The sun was shining and it was a really nice day. Mickell and Ty both had a lot of fun and really enjoyed being outside. I just wish that Dylan could have been there with us too (he was at school).
