December 2009

Just wanted to update a couple new pictures. We are all doing great and had a really fun Christmas. The kids are enjoying their time off from school, and I'm enjoying having them around.

Cambree is growing and changing fast. She is so interactive with the family. She wiggles like crazy and swings her arms and legs really fast. She is always full of smiles and we just adore her!

FALL LEAVES

The kids went outside and gathered all the leaves in the backyard today to make as big of a pile as they could, then on the count of 3 they all jumped in. It was really cute to see all of them working together to gather the leaves and they had so much fun jumping in over and over. Stripe even got in the middle of it and once he jumped in the kids couldn't get him to come back out. What a fun day!

Back to School

Dylan headed off to second grade today, and he is SO excited. I'm so glad that he likes school, I'm just sad that he is growing up so fast.

Mickell started her first day of Kindergarten. She is a little nervous, and when I dropped her off and helped her find her seat she shed a couple tears, but thank goodness there wasn't any major meltdown! I'm sure she will love it once she gets used to it though.

So here is the follow up...I just picked up Mickell from Kindergarten and she had a great day! Her only complaint was that it was too short. I asked what she thought about her teacher, and Mickell said that she loves her! Yeah, I'm so happy everything was successful.

My baby is two!! I don't know where all the time has gone...how can he already be turning two years old? I'm always asking him "are you my baby?", and his answer with a smirk is, "big boy!".

He had a fun birthday, and once he opened his package of hot wheels cars, he was good to go...he didn't need anything else...well, except the birthday cake!

Some cute pictures of the kids before we went to church today.

I swore I would NEVER do it, but I got outvoted 4 to 1. Even though I have the ultimate veto power I just didn't have the heart to say no, and now we have added two new members to our family. I'm still not adjusting to the change very well, but I've never seen my kids happier about anything and so I guess that's what it's all about. It has worked out great that Stripe is the boy and he is fun and crazy and playful and he totally loves Dylan, and Princess is the girl and she is mellow and loves to be held and she totally loves Mickell.

Mickell & Makaylee

Mickell was so happy when her new little cousin Makaylee came over to visit. She was SO excited that Aunt Alysha let her hold the baby. She sang little songs to her and was in seventh heaven. Now she can't wait for her own little sister to get here!

Hamblin Dairy Farm

I feel bad that I don't get to participate with Dylan in his school stuff very often, so I was VERY excited that David was able to take half the day off today so I could go with Dylan on his class field trip to the Hamblin Dairy Farm. It's been about 13 years since I've been on a school bus, and I got to ride on the very back seat, whoo hoo, doesn't that mean I'm cool?? It was so much fun to hang out with Dylan, and the other three kids I was in charge of were super sweet and cute and it was a fun day. We got to see a lot of cute baby animals which I think was the highlight of the farm.

Bedtime Stories

Ty loves to crawl into bed with Dylan and Mickell at bedtime and pretend that he is sleeping with them. Last night Mickell found a train book and read him stories before bedtime. It was so cute and Ty was in seventh heaven.

WrestleMania Shakespear Style

The kids absolutely love to wrestle and although David was tired last night he finally gave in to their begging and pleading. Can you tell who is winning?

Dylan and Ty

I thought the boys looked cute in their matching outfits today so I had to take a picture. Although they look a lot alike, they are so different. Dylan is my sweet sensitive artsy mama's boy and Ty is our crazy sporty daddy's boy.

Happy Valentine's Day

We had such a fun Valentine's day together. When we first got up David and I gave a cute stuffed animal and treats to each of the kids, then Dylan and Mickell had made some cute valentines to give to everyone. The kids were so sweet and thoughtful to us and to each other and even put chocolates and suckers on there gifts to each other.

The weather was really snowy all day, so even though I hate being cold and wet, we thought it would be really fun to take the kids outside and play in the snow. We bundled them all up, and ended up being outside for over 2 hours! They all had so much fun, and Ty was kicking and screaming when we finally made him go back inside.

We had such a wonderful day together. I love to see my kids happy and I love it when we are able to have fun like this together. I love being a mom, and I'm so grateful for the good life that I have.

What a great dad!

For the past while Mickell has been telling me that she really wants dad to bring her some boards home so she can build something. She called him up at work the other day and he told her that on Saturday they would go buy some boards and figure out something they could build. After talking to him on the phone she came up with the idea to build an airplane. On Saturday we all went over to Lowe's and picked out some boards, nails, and a hammer for both Dylan and Mickell. When we got home Dylan quickly drew up some "blueprints" and David helped them sort of plan out how they were going to build the airplane. The kids helped with everything and were acutally really really good at hammering in the nails...well, Dylan and Mickell were really good at it and Ty just had fun pretending. David made a propeller and a steering wheel for each side of the airplane so they could both play in it at the same time. It might not look like much, but they had such a wonderful day and were so proud of all their hard work. I'm so grateful that David is such a great dad and that he would spend his day helping them to create something so fun.

Happy 7th Birthday Dylan

I can't believe that my oldest child is already seven years old! Time passes by way too fast for my liking. Dylan is such a great kid and he had such a fun birthday. I think the highlight of his day was getting an Indiana Jones little lego set. He loves little legos and he loves the Indiana Jones wii game, so mix them together and you have the ultimate gift for him. I'm so glad that he had a fun day.

Ty LOVED the birthday cake!
.
Mickell was really excited that it was Dylan's birthday. She spent a lot of time during the afternoon making him a special birthday card and even put $0.27 of her own money in the card. So cute!!

Christmas 2008

It's been a while since I made a post and I figured it was about time I tried to catch up on things. The holidays seemed like a whirlwind...always a million places to go and too many things to get ready for. I was glad when Christmas finally arrived. The kids were SO excited and had such a wonderful day. We just hung out and took it easy all day and had a lot of fun together as a family. A lot of us have been sick on and off since Christmas though, so we are just barely getting back to normal and trying to get back in the swing of things!
